Dip-dyed or smoke? These tentacles are part of an experiment triggered by a single drop of red calligraphy ink. The images showcase the ink dissolving into numerous caterpillar treads spiraling in gravitational flux.

This process generates random skeleton structures held in liquified equilibrium drifting apart until they become one. The unique behavior of ink refracts the light at various rates of sharpness, saturation and contrast, proportioned to the ink’s natural rate of flow.

This phenomena interconnects clusters of scaleless figures transitioning into porous meditative fiber. In architectural terms, transitioning seamlessly from entryways into a foyer, passageway and into a communal or gathering space.

The monochromatic qualities found in red hues dematerialize the building skin to fine grain until we become exposed from inside out.
